In a memorial celebrating Lynne's life, Barb Stauffer (coworker and above all, friend) shares:

She was known to many as Lynne, Lynnie Mae, Pinky, Pink, Mom, & Grammy. To everyone who knew her, she was known as a "little lady with a big heart." If one were to look in the dictionary under love, laughter, caring, or giving, we would find Lynne's name.

I met Lynne in November of 1993, when I began at Morrissey Insurance. She and Stacy (Bernie's daughter who was working with us at the time) would go to lunch together and soon enough, they began inviting me to join them. I lost my grandmother and my mother during the next five months and Lynne quickly became my angel. This was when our friendship began; I appreciated her closeness, her friendship, kind words, and acts of love. She was a mother figure.

The times I remember most with Lynne were the lunch times, when we laughed and cried, shared joys, and talked about work and husbands, but mostly...about grandchildren. The funniest thing about Lynne was leaving the office and driving down the road behind this big Cadillac, with a  little lady behind the wheel--completely invisible to drivers behind her, despite her seat cushion!

I remember her famous chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. I remember that she hated mushrooms. I remember her personalized, hand knitted Christmas stockings that she made for my family and am grateful that I have those to point my memories towards her each Christmas. I remember her desire to kill the mouse at her computer workstation at the office. Lynne was a great storyteller.

I believe that we were put on this earth to be like Jesus. We are here for a short time. Lynne has completed her job: unconditional love. She has touched lives all around her; her love for Norm for 45 years, her sons, one known as Normie or Mr. Mom, her beautiful grandchildren that she spoke so much about. Lynne has touched my life; I love her and I will miss her.

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be.

So He put His arms around you and whispered "Come to Me."

With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away.

Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
